Default Loss of Compression?

So I have a 99 sc300 with a mint condition engine. I just did all the maintenance for this lifetime of the car and everything sounds and runs fine. However last night in the middle of my drive it just started to fall in RPM's. It would not go over 2k RPM's even with the pedal to the floor. I managed to get it a block to where I was going and left it there for about 5 hours. The check engine light was on and it was flashing TRAC OFF. When I came back the check engine light was still on but it was running fine. It was revving how its supposed to. Let it sit all morning and took it around the block now and it was fine... no check engine light anymore. I checked the dipstick and the oil is fine. Theres no strange noises coming from the car and theres no weird smell or any fumes. No leaks. Anybody have any clue as to whats wrong? The engine didn't sound forced, it just wasn't going over 2k RPM's for some reason. Thanks.

why not just scan your check engine light instead of guessing???? any autozone or other autoparts store usually scans for free...
