Default Different Differential make a Difference?say it x10

I have a 93 manual w/133,XXX miles. So my bearing in my diff(driver side)has some play in it which explains why I've had a rough ride the last few months which is getting worse. So a few questions

1.Should I just salvage it and replace the bearing or is that a risk?
2.What diff should I get between SC300-400 and LS400?
3.Does the lower gear ratio make much of a difference mileage wise?

Thanks

The lower the ring gear ratio, the better mpg.
Higher ratio is faster acceleration

Manual is 4.08, moving to 3.92 is a little better, it shouldn't hurt acceleration too much.

You may want to look into auto TT since it's 3.73
