I used a universal DB9 kit from Radio Shack.

It came with a male, a female and a strip of 9 pins to solder your own configuration.

I used the pins on the DLC2 Side, as they fit into the spade receiver really well, they're just really fragile, so you can't move them around too much.

The other (Smart) option is to build the cable, and use a "Snap-on Diagnostic end". They sell them for the obd-1 plug like we find in the SC's.

That particular plug can be used for DLC1 under the hood.

I finally got my cable and yesterday evening i was on the road to test the whole thing.
But i think i got some wrong settings, because i checked the cable and it was okay but the programm didnīt log.

At first: When iīm clicking on "MORE" --> "CHECK THE CABLE ON THE INVERSION"

The number jumps from 1 to 0 all the time... 1,0,1,0,1,0,1,0,1,0,1,0,1,0 etc....

And i got a screenshot from the options here:


Can someone please tell me/ us what setting we need for a 1JZ/ 2JZ engine please?

And what value do i need in "PERFORNAMCE OF INJECTORS" ?
Iīm running JDM 440cc injectors in my 1J.

Well if you are getting a "1", that means check inverse adapter.

If you didn't get a 1, you would leave it un-checked.

Since you have a 1jz, check "1jz"!

You have a MAP-Turbo KPA.

GR/ sec is also "CC's / sec". So you would have 44 gr/ sec for 440cc injectors.

With the car running, you should get logging with these parameters.

Really nice thread guys!
Just wondering if this would work on my 2000 GS300 as I have a Toyota diagnostic port in my engine bay also.
And is there a straight connection from the Toyota diagnostic plug (pin VF1) to the OBD2 plug somewhere? As I want to build this cable and use it on my OBD2 plug instead of the Toyota diagnostic plug.
