98-2000 vvti SC400 Intake options
I have read many forums and searched and searched but I cannot find an intake that will fit my car? I have a 2000 SC400. On ebay, theres the Injen IS2085, says it fits 92-2000 but I am skeptical. That is the one I am aiming for. The SRT one is expensive, and I do not have the time for the BFI. What intakes are you all running? Please, I need some answers!

Eh, anyone? Fellow SC community, help a brotha out! So far, not to offend all of you but I have been upset with the help people offer here sometimes, maybe because I'm new? I'm sure my questions aren't too complicated

srt intake: swift racing technologies intake is marketed for the gs400/gs430 but will work with the 98-00 sc400 though the heat shield will not fit. Also you could just do a B.F.I. intake (really easy) then make a better/ get another tube/funnel to increase the air flow to the intake. Check the sticky's on D.I.Y. for the BFI

How do you like your SRT Intake? Was it a pain to install? Ive heard some people say you have to relocate the power steering container, is this true? If the intake fits easily im happy with that, I dont mind cutting the heat shield myself. Also, how does the chip work, does it just hook up somewhere or do you need a tune? Let me know, I am very interested in this one..

I had the SRT intake installed last December and so far so good.
Like sc4demon said, the intake is technically for the GS400 1UZ but works with the SC. The PS fluid reservoir had to be relocated but the head shield fit fine.
As for the chip, yes it needs to be wired into the stock ECU. It's just a few different wires. No need for a tune just reset the ECU and drive like normal.
Here's a few pics of my setup
Not my pic but here's what you have to do.

Buy any GS400 intake off ebay.
Relocate PS res.
Cut the maf adapter out of your intake box .
Use some silicone hose reducers to install stock maf adapter onto the ebay kit.
The reason you need those ECU tuner boxes is because all the aftermarket kits run 3" piping straight to the TB but the stock setup uses a 2.75" maf tube. By keeping the stock maf tube you eliminate the need for a calibration device.

I'll post a pic of it when I get home. It does not require you relocating the power-steering resivoir.
