Default 95 SC300 won't idle

I let my car sit for most of the summer since the AC doesn't work and last weekend I tried to get it started again. I had to jump it since the battery had died and put a few gallons of fresh gas in it. After I got the cables connected it took a few cranks to get it going but eventually it started up and was idling fine. I got out to take off the jumper cables and while I was under the hood the engine started to stumble so I quickly reached up to the throttle body area and pushed on the wire connected to the throttle linkage. The car revved up but when I let go of the wire the engine died and when I tried to restart it it wouldn't start without pushing the gas pedal in about a third of the way and would die when the pedal was released. The wire I pushed was connected to the idle side of the linkage and I chased it out to a small box on the passenger side fender well area and I tried to adjust the idle there but the little servo the cable connects to doesn't seem to have enough power to hold the cable at the correct tension to keep the idle speed up. What have I done to my car? Is where I was trying to adjust the idle the correct place? The car is stock right now.

May be garbage in fuel lines from all of that time sitting there. run a fuel system cleaner through it and see what happens.

I don't think it's the fuel filter, if I two foot it I can drive it around and it has as much power as it ever did. It just won't start or idle unless I hold the pedal partially open or put something under the linkage to keep it from bottoming out.
