Default 2jzgte guru please chime in

I am planning on buying a 94 usdm 2jzgte head and installing it on my 97 sc300. I will wire in the missing connectors for the sensors and things like that.

Problem 1.
Now for the ecu would I still have to get an OBD 2 tt ecu or could i just use a OBD 1 tt ecu since the head is an OBD 1?

What are they diffenences in the OBD2 TT head and OBD 1 head?

Problem 2
Would I be better off making it work with the TT supra ecu or with the aristo ecu with MAP and IAT sensors?

Plus about 97 sc300
The 97 sc300 already has the crank sensor built into the block so i would just make sure that is in the right pin location for the TT ecu.

Anyone that has any experience could you please chime in. I would also put ARP head studs and TT HG.

I am not going to lie, my eyes hurt.

I can't read any of the important information you are trying to explain.

Break up your post into one point per line.

OBD 1 ECU, MAP and IAT, 97 block, and this thread :

1. you can run whatever ecu you want, you will just have to modify the wiring harness for which ever
one you decide to use

2. tuning is generally easier on the jdm ecus because they are already map based. the USDM ecu's are MAF based which can make tuning a little trickier

3. yes you should be able to repin the crank pos sensor wires

Any difference between a obd 1 head and a obd 2 head?

No, the heads are all the same as long as they are USDM or JDM , USDM has the egr port while jdm doesn't.

all the jdm heads are the same.

all the usdm heads are the same.

You need a 96+ USDM ecu if you wanna pass emissions and your oBD2 port will be functional.

either way for a na-t or gte head on a 97 SC, you would use the USDM ODB2 GTE ECU if you want your odb2 port to work and have a good chance at emissions, and those ecus only came on US supras.
