Default Auto to 5 speed

I just got my hands on a 5 speed transmission, not actually mine yet, but pretty sure I am going to buy it, anyway I was wondering if I could use the auto rearend and drive shaft or will i have to get a new driveshaft? I am going for now to keep my cluster and ecu, I will switch ecu's later. any other hints tips, links to articles. I have already read everything they have on mkiv about this.

Still the most reliable thing to do is sell the auto n buy a manual.
A guy I know had a prelude auto converted to a manual by a well know and very competant shop, but it still never felt like driving a real factory 5 speed.

sc300. The manual will work with an auto ecu, it just retards the timing before shifts. I talked to about four people including the person that was going to sell me the tranny, and 4 out of four said save my money and get a turbo instead. I figure if even the guy that was selling it to me was willing to give up a sell and give me the advice I probably should listen to it.

Default If you're in texas..

If you're in texas...contact ClintPohler...sc300t here at clublexus.

He's got the super fast turbo sc300 6 spd, and did the conversion.

like really, what does it take to convert a 400 to a manual? i'll just get stock interior parts, badass transmission, and new chips. basically, i'll get everything i have to get so that i can convert it. i want to do it, and am willing to pay for the parts. it'd be cool if you guys could help me out, and i'm sure that i could search for all the stuff. but it would be a lot easier and more helpful if the knowledgable people who came across this would just help me out. i odn't want anyone to go out of their way for me and feel as if they have to pick up their slack. thanks.

AMSC,
I want to do the same thing. I want to put a R154 or V160 onto a 1UZFE. I think what we need to know is:

R154 from which car? MKIII or MKIV Supra?
Need to change the LSD, half shafts or tail shaft?
Which bell housing to use?
Does the ECU retard the timing anticipating auto changes? How do we stop this??

If anyone knows the answers to these questions for either V160 or R154, please post them.

Or... will the R154 from the 1JZ-GTE 2.5 twin turbo Soarer fit onto the 1UZ-FE??? Over here, there is a plentiful supply of these transmissions.... the 2.5TT Soarer *has* a R154, right???
