Question 1993 sc300 smog/ seafoam help ?!

Sup guys , just needed some input on my situation

I need to get my car smog before I register the sc with the dmv

My car feels sluggish so I went out to buy seafoam. It labels on the bottle that it helps with the emissions test.

Should I seafoam it first then take it on Tuesday ?

if the cats are already dirty, it would make it much worse and you would fail on HC PPM

take it somewhere that will do a sniffer test first without sending info to the dmv. I was able to get that done at a NON test only station. If the mechanic is nice enough, he can read the results and tell you what the causes could be for the failure.

This right here, If you think something's wrong there probably is, see what your numbers are first.

In general though seafoam usually helps with smog tests. I've had some friends with borderline numbers that seafoamed and snuck through so it does work just how well varies from person to person. I believe there is also a thread in the DIY thread about seafoaming your engine if you want more info on it.
