26 mpg in my 97sc400!
I got to the point that it took me a year to use up a full tank of fuel in my sc due to the bad fuel mileage so having a conversation with a good friend and overall Toyota nut we came up with changing out the fuel pressure regulator in favor of an adjustable unit which allowed me to lower the fuel pressure an lean out the afr a good bit as these run very rich from the factory so since I had it for my motor swap already I installed it along with the walbro 255 fuel pump and those items in conjunction with 93 octane fuel allowed for a major decrease of the base fuel pressure resulting in the big bump in mpg and a little power increase as well
I have pics but my photobucket is messed up not allowing me to upload anymore pics

All you did was have this installed? I'm trying to invest a few hundred in my car to get better gas mileage, I have a 92 SC 400. I'm averaging 13mpg...I'm ordering a few 02 sensors now, going to seafoam and get new spark plugs and other stuff as well...maybe a tps... I'm interested in everything you've done to get 26mpg because that's double mine lmao. I feel bad for the environment every time I drive my car.

And yea the walbro was a gss342 but make sure you get the install kit with it and one more thing I forgot is my fuel pump ecu is bypassed as well which helps add predictability when tuning the fuel pressure as the voltage is fairly constant.

Before I did this I was getting close to that however my car is in tiptop running condition with all fresh tune up parts and regular seafoam treatments as well as 5w20 oil which all helps contribute to the better mpg but the leaner afr mixture obtained from the afpr is what made the major improvement however this is only hwy mpg that I speak of and if your driving style has a heavy right foot then results will not be the same for you.
