Question sc400 exhaust rattle - is cat delete worth it?

there is a rattling from my sc400's exhaust (all stock). its coming from closer to the engine, so im under the impression that its one of the cats that are probably just broken and most likely the driver side one. im pretty sure its not a heat shield cause i checked all of em and theyre tight.

well anyway, heres my question: i was wondering if instead of replacing the cat, would just taking it to an exhaust shop to replace the cats with test / straight pipes be a better idea, (id assume it would be louder which is a plus) and is there any power gain? if not, what negatives are there and what would you suggest i do instead? ive been searching all day and i cant get a definitive answer. thanks
