I have been extremely happy with my ACT Stage 4. Some will tell you different and problems with them, but I couldn't be any more happier. They will all say to STAY AWAY FROM SPEC. If you are going to stay stock, then the Stage 3 will be plenty for your stock VVTI.

Review this thread. I would probably go with what QuickSC4 recommends.

^^^^I'm personally running the exact same setup and have nothing negative to say, although for me, the clutch engagement is on or off, you don't really get to slip the clutch.

However I used to have a SouthBend Clutch on my DSM, and by far one of the best clutches hands down. I will be switching to Southbend when money permits.

What drive shaft did you use the 5-speed sc300 one?

you don't need a puck clutch for the v8, A good stage 3 full face performance disc will be up to the task just fine with a normal or slightly upgraded pressure plate. Go with the southbend if you can afford it has great reviews, but any full face performance disc should do it. you could get a puck but be prepared for on/off with a puck disc and heavy PP, I know mine is on/off I can't even let others drive it for fear of breaking my trans or my crank when they let out that 1/4 inch of engagement it has too fast. almost gives you whiplash when it happens.

What flywheel are you using for your sc400 swap? they will need to know to get you the right diameter disc.

I have RPS stage 5 competition clutch, easy on the crank compared to others
a lot of friends with the ACT stuff have had crank walk issues, 1JZPWRD seems like he likes his, but I've heard horror stories
