Default Electric fan conversion

I'm debating on getting rid of the clutch fan on my 300, and switching to either 1 large single, or like 2 smaller electric fans, anyone ever done this, what works best? Also, anyone ever done it without building/buying a shroud? what size fan/fans did you use? Ever have any overheating issues?

Why ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I'm still on fan clutch and over 900hp. And I live in S FLA. 90+ and 100% humidity and I still have A/C

yeah, IMO don't get rid of it. I ran a dual fan setup with proper relays and temp probe and it was still a nightmare. The stock clutch fan flows like 3000cfm or something with a fan shroud. That's plenty

Just trying to free up room in the front of the motor is all. It wasn't a question of flow, i know the stock fan is more than enough.

Electric fans die when you least expect it. clutch fans just continue to spin even with a bad clutch. JMO

if you are not going to use a oem electric fan setup like is300 or sec gen gs300 fans , you are asking for trouble .. the is300/gs300 flow a ton of air if mounted correctly and plumbed correctly and use a fan controller , the after market ones tend to be problematic and without a good shroud will make a jz motor run hot

I'm in the middle of collecting parts to do an E-fan+Supra rad conversion myself. IS300 fans are cheap to find and apparently very high flowing. If it works for an OEM 2JZ setup, it should be enough for a 1JZ setup

You will need a fan controller or EMS capable of handling an extra input. It's not a simple plug and play like many make it seem. The wiring is somewhat extensive.

PHR make a plug and play harness for Supras with IS300 fans, just no idea if it would be plug and play for our cars.
