It depends on what your budget is really, according to some research a TT trans with a fat cooler and a shift kit should hold up to 500ish hp.

My ideal route is a full performance rebuild kit with raybestos clutches in my n/a trans (so i can use a supra stick later) with a shiftkit and lextreme converter

Forget it you wont make 600+ reliably on a built TT auto without really being careful and not beating on it. Save yourself the money and head ache and either go manual or if you must suck all the fun out of driving (lol jk) then do a th400 or 350

That's not true. There's a couple dozen people on supra forums making well over 1000 whp and runnning 8 second passes on these transmissions. Contact Nero at titanmotorsports and they have a off the shelf u it that holds 800 hp all day long for 2300 bucks!

Don't listen to the haters!!!

It's super simple!

Take the stock SC400 tranny.

Get a transgo shift kit, 2nd gear billet sprag from ATF (I would buy the billet forward piston while your at it), Red Alto HD clutches. Your going to need a nice built torque converter too (a lot of different companies make them, just find which one is best for your $$$ you want to spend).

BOOM tranny that can hold 800-900whp.

I wrote some more in depth tranny info on some of my past posts if you check my posting history.

The a340 is a great tranny that is used in supra drag cars that runs in the 8 second times.

I'm kind of drunk so message me if you want more info lol

LOL you wont make 600 on a built auto? thats weird cause there is guys making 500 on stock tt autos with shift kits and coolers. reliably.

Hell i boost 14 psi through my 140k stock n/a auto every day.

it would be a good idea to not speak on these type of topics when its clear you dont have experience. The perpetual sharing of mis-information in the forum world is crazy these days.

I just want to add on top of what I wrote in my drunkeness.

Get an aftermarket LSD that's clutch based.

A Torsen LSD will hold about 450-550whp (this is off the top of my head) if your gentle on launch. It's the launches that bust the Torsens.

If you have anywhere near 600whp I would definitely have a clutch based LSD. It will keep you straighter and will hold more power.

I speak from experience as ive broken a boost logic built auto at 648 whp. maybe i gave up on them too soon but that was my experience.

Wow, id be highly disappointed too that would be interesting to know what exactly failed.

I don't see 600 being a big issue with a properly built trans but im a far cry from 600hp at 14psi.

Eventually ill be bringing my trans to my local shop with rebuild kit, though I don't imagine ever wanting to run more than say 20psi in the future.
