i dont really want to do the bfi thing.... i am not really looking into shoping my air box and placing some air duct somewhere around the bumper vents. well this is what i have seen from those who have done the bfi but ummm i dont know looks weird i just want to add a little more note to the engine the bfi is if i really want to go to the extreeme and try to find everywhere in detail to find some hp even tho i might be able to do the bfi set up and put the injen system.... i dont know crazy now haha

I did the bfi and my low range rpm sounds like a real V8 now. High range rpm sounds about the same, all I hear is motor, no exhaust lol.

if your doing a cai they all work the same, car sounds better, you gain 5hp to the crank and itll sound better. go for the cheapest one if you dont wanna go bfi

I say go for the exhaust. U will get more satisfaction. Jus for thought. Don't do deleted resonators and mufflers. It sounds awesome but u will lose some low end speed. Make sure u have aftermarket mufflers with deleted resonators.

U should look into the exhaust mega thread. It will give u a better idea of what u want ur car to sound like. This is the current exhaust setup that I have. Deleted resonators with beluga racing mufflers. It's loud on the outside and quiet on the inside.

drop in k&N and make an extra hole in the front of the airbox. its like half the BFI mod if you don't want to do the rest.
The injen is going to make your intake shorter and the cone shape will ensure you get nothing but hot engine bay air, and when you are n/a that can hurt power.

^^ AliSC3 is right on the money. Injens look nice and carry a handy CARB E.O. Exemption but actually give you less performance than the stock air box. BFI is best for a 400 and perhaps good for a 300.

As for exhausts, bolt on options also don't give much extra power without other supporting modifications but you can get an aesthetically pleasing change in sound. Personally I went with M2 dual catbacks because they sound nice on an NA 2JZ. I think they'd sound better with a 1UZ car. Deleting resonators is another good option with or without a catback exhaust.

im not really looking for power but umm i found this cai from secret weapon r and it has the set up that the bfi uses well similar i think. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WEAPON-R-SECRET-RAM-AIR-INTAKE-98-00-LEXUS-GS400-V8-/300403823765?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45f1769495&vxp=mtrany have experience with this item? this one is for a gs400 but i can make it work for my sc400, i cant find one for the sc400. it has the bfi idea? if not ill go to a junk yard get an extra airbox (if i dont make a custom one that is all see through) and do the holes on it but ill use aftermarket cold air intake instead of the drop in one.

Only thing an aftermarket intake will do is make ur engine bay look good. I had a k&n intake on my GS400. It made my engine look hella nice. But I actually ended up losing hp. I was seriously considering putting the stock box back on my GS4 cuz of the loss of power. So....if ur going for looks then buy it. If not, do the BFI

The SC mufflers and cat.conv. is pretty much straight thru. I deleted my inline cat. with all stock ex. and it sounds perf. to me. Stock mufflers look heavy but arent that bad. Spend the money some where else. I have 2/3s BFI and love it
