Timing Belt Slipped?
I posted yesterday that my 93 400 just started "missing" after I changed the oil and gave her a bath. The more I think about it I think the timing belt may have jumped a tooth or two. My reasoning is that it is running like crap and this is exactly how it was running when I bought it. Had a mechanic friend set the timing and all was good. It is my understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, but when you set the engine to TDC the cam marks should sit at 10 and 2 as you face the engine. If in fact the belt has slipped does anyone know if you can reset it without pulling the entire front of the engine off. Also is there a more accurate way to set the timing other than guessing at 10 and 2.
TIA
TIA
