Default Put new platinum NGK spark plugs in runs worst now

Anyone know why my SC 400 is running bad after I had a mechanic put some new platinum NKG spark plugs in. i bought these plugs about 2 years ago they were in my trunk in the NGK boxes until I used them today. After the mechanic put them in, my car ran bad. I don't know if it is a miss fire or what. I did drop the spark plugs in water a couple years ago, they were all in boxes. I don't know if this could be the problem. I may trying buying some more tomorrow and try it again. Let me know what you think the problem is?

NGK are the best, used them in my old SC3 and now my SC4, I suggest getting brand new ones and putting them in yourself see how it runs

Do you recommend the platinum or double platinum NGK plugs, Do platinum NGK plugs make any noticeable differences in normal situations ?

I never noticed the difference. Of course, it all depends on the condition of the engine. If you're running rich, burning oil, etc., it could foul up a plug, etc etc etc. Platinum NGK is what I've always used.

There isnt that much of a difference but just go with the NGKs, The Iridiums are amazing but pricey, the platinums are great too and the price is just right.

ngk can be bought from the dealer directly or toyota dealer. great for the 400. check your distributor car and make sure that the timing was not touched. i had a similar problem and it turned out to be the alternator but i wear i thougth it was the spark plugs too. maybe my car is just weird , goodluck

I installed laser-iridium NGK's on my old SC and the car ran great (well, the car always ran great lol). Must be because you dropped them in water. Or maybe the ingnitor part on the tip somehow got damaged from rolling around in your trunk for 2 years?

Soon as I figure out why I am looking at someone waxing your car and we are talking about spark plugs I'll try to figure this one out.

Thanks all. I went ahead and bought new platinum NGK spark plugs again and a new wire set. The problem was one of the platinum NGK plugs in my car was miss firing due to a bad cable. I suppose a cable got damaged when he pulled it to replace the plug. The mechanic told me, once he replaced the cables the car ran great. I was able to return the unused platinum NGK spark plugs I just bought again. The car now drives great!!
