I am going to take a stab at this and say yes, maybe slightly higher, like around 5000-5200. Thats a lot on the hot side for a stock 1JZ, even with 2JZ grinded cams. Do you have a T4 manifold? Or a quick spool valve? By the time it spools, you will have to shift even with a R154 or V160. I would say even more with a auto and V160. R154 has longer gears with either the stock SC300/400 rearend and the MKIV 3.76 auto I have.

Are you using a T-4 manifold divided or open? Also at 18psi you will be close if not out of fuel (injector).

yes thats it. the car is fast once it spools though. sorry im driving home . been on d road since 8am. and back to tye to4. I mean, it will be netter than what I have now rite? .will a quick spool valve help at all? or its not even worth it? I did some reading a few years ago on it and there were mixed reviews on it. like being some what restrictive. .

damn I guess ill start looking for another turbo. dont feel like doing the work 2wice.

if I'm correct you are using a open turbo housing on a divided manifold? I would suggest getting a turbo with around a .81-.1.00 divided with a 60-67mm turbo based on your statements to get the spool at or below 5000!

A .84 divided t-4 would be a decent rear housing for a 1 jz for decent spool

Yes sir. I concur. I like the idea of having some extra room for future mods without having to buy a bigger turbo. The .91 is near perfect for me and my driving style.
