Like everyone else has said, $300 will not get you much. Plus the fact that you own a 300 with a 2jz, it will be much easier going the turbo route than supercharging, just FYI. Go check out some build threads and try to get knowledgeable on your car, its fun!

I'm going to step out on a limb and assume the OP means 300hp not 300 in currency. For the NA route you're looking at BFI/H/E, cams, upgraded tq converter or manual swap and an AFC with a tune & that should do the trick. NA-T is a definitive method of achieving your mark & there are plenty of tried & true components for you to piece together the perfect kit. SC "is" an option, but generally more towards the 400, because of the significant involvement required to turbo it, but an option nonethelss. You can also go the well paved 1jz route, or if you are feeling adventurous the LSx route. All very detailed throughout the forum.
The real questions are what do you want out of your car and how much of the work are you going to do yourself?
If you just want a spirited DD & have basic abilities & knowledgeable friends or access to a good shop that will cut you slack on labor, go NA-T & leave it auto for now & source a 5 speed later when you get the next itch to mod. You'll love the car under mild boost & when you begin to itch for more the manual conversion will make it feel like a whole new car.
After that options I would suggest are the 1jz swap, then the LSx swap, then the Supercharger, then the GTE swap.
Don't forget all your basic maintenace item and supporting mods too
