Changing tranny fluid w58
Hey guys, try not to flame as the only guide I could find on changing the tranny oil for my sc300 w58 was old and didnt have working pics anymore. Is there any new guide out there for changing it and how often should I actually change it anyways? Looking at redline for the fluid or royal purple too which I could use some advice on as well if anyone wants to help me out with that decision.
And while were on it , an engine oil as well... I live in california so I really just want whatever would be best for performance/reliability without needing to worry about cold starts or anything...thanks in advance for any help. I have a 1jzgte basically all stock just intake/intercooler/full 3in exhaust.
Once again, i've tried to search this and found so much scrambled info I don't know what is too old to be reliable... and honestly have no idea how to change the fluid for this specific tranny...

I too will need to know this for when I change my fluid in the near future.
What's the best transmission fluid to run for a W58? A Toyota spec one or something like Redline or Synchromesh?
Also, is it as smile as draining from a drain plug and unbolting a speed sensor (VSS) to add the fluid? Always took me like 10 mins in my Hondas that way.

There should be a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission and a fill plug on the side. Pump fluid until it starts to come out of the fill hole and let it drain til no more fluid comes out of the drain hole.

The check plug will be on driver side of transmisson and drain plug is on the bottom like said in above post they're like 22mm I believe but good luck getting a socket on it (no room) you need a wrench and it's probably tight. As far as fluid I used redline mt90 last time and noticed a big difference in shifting, it was smoother. Hope that helps good luck.
