That thinking is not to correct we have in florida a couple 1j making good power 600 no nos that is a single 350rwp at 18 psi
with only a partial tune on fuel adjusted no timing. I have owned both and i sold my 1j to go to 2j besause i got a great deal on my
new motor .
So unless you have played with both be fair to the motor and the n/a 5 speed from a lexus is not as strong as the 1j which is a
mkiii supra tranny with a different bell houseing

might be able to find some info here. it might bolt up, but you need a 2jz flywheel.

Another option is 1.5jz. Assuming your bottom end is in great shape drop the 1jz head on to your ge and call it a day. U saved money and the left over parts you can sell to make up for the labor and the mpg is typically better than a 2jz. Just a thought

For his goal I don't think head flow will be a problem. Better mpg and power to be "fast" 1.5jz I assume would be a good fit. As far as his turbos well that's another story as stated before its a hit or miss, however plenty of people on this forum will purchase his left over parts so he could go single.

The stock 2JZ camshaft are more aggressive I believe.

I can not speak for the 1JZ-GTE VVT-i but the 2JZ-GTE VVT-i head is the exact same as 2JZ-GTE in terms of headflow. The gaskets are identical.
You must also know that headflow isn't the end-all, be-all point. The manner in which air mixes with gasoline is also of critical importance. I believe the proper term is atomize. Toyota designed the GE heads to atomize the air best under natural vacuum and the GTE under boost. Because of this fact the 2JZ-GTE is a worthwhile upgrade from the 2JZ-GE even though the headflow charts make them see almost identical.
