Some cars I believe came with 2 Catalytic converters, others came with one and three resonators.

My car on the other hand is one that came with 3 resonators and 1 catalytic converter.

This is how my car (Stock) Looks:
2 Mufflers > 2 Rear Resonators > 1 Center Resonator > 1 Catlytic Converter

How I'm running it:
1 Center Resonator > 1 Catalytic Converter

I'm wondering what would removing this last center resonator do as far as sound on the exhaust?

Oh man you type in such big font. I think your car sounds good as it sits right now. I think it will be even louder if you remove the last resonator.

Hahaha sorry, I was on my schools network and I accidentally made the font rather large!

But I'll wait for now I have other stuff on my priority list like getting a new antenna, rear bumper, new headlight, etc ya know?

But thanks I really am satisfied with the results. I'll upload a video soon of it getting to a little higher RPMs and maybe tunnel or garage shots for the acoustics.

I'll update the thread when I get that done this weekend!

I just added two additional videos!

Tell me what you think!

I have to say, I really enjoy this car being my first vehicle!

And as far as an update: I tinted all my tails, my side markers, and my tail lights.

I plan to fix my antenna and my watery headlight sometime soon. If anyone cares haha

Sounds perf. for a drag strip, but I like the sound of my stock mufflers resonators and no cat.

And the legend comments on my thread!

Woot!

Haha thanks. It's just so tempting to remove the last resonator because I have about 5 feet of 2.25" piping in a box in my basement.

Sounds pretty awesome man! I would leave it just like that its loud but not too loud.

Yes it would be much louder since its full straight pipe.

Unless some one else modified your exhaust you should have 2 cats on the SC400.
SCs sold in Cali have 3 Cats.

My stock exhaust system also had 3 resonators and 2 cats. 2 cats one on each side, Middle resonator, then 2 resonators to 2 mufflers.

Nobody modified my exhaust it was stock when I got it. I thought that SC400's could come with 1 Cat 3 Resonators and 2 Mufflers, or the Cali one with 2 Catalytic converters 3 Resonators, and 2 Mufflers.

Am I Mistaken? I will take a pic of my exhaust right now. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Lol yeah should have 2 one on each side of the exhuast manifold since its a V8 it should of 2 if it was a 2j SC3 it would have one since its a inline 6 design and one in the middle.

Stock exhaust should look like this....

Haha okay thanks! I feel like such an idiot but whatever. That Pic you posted was really helpful, Thanks man!

But now the cat that's closest to the engine, is that visible from looking under the car?

Your welcome man no worries it can be confusing even some inline 6s have 2 cats, 3 runners going to one cat and the other 3 going to one cat to one pipe all on the same side.

That pic has a "Sub Cat" for the V8 "US spec only" in the middle but not even mine had that it was indeed a middle resonator and looked nothing like a cat. Probably referred to Cali cars.

Yeah there are up there probably have to get jack stands and look under there the exhaust manifolds are pretty short on the 1uz, you probably just missed it.

What would the result of adding Hi-Flow cats add to the sound of the car?

Yes since they are hi-flow and stock are a restricted. If you want it louder take off that other resonator but i recommend a H-pipe or X-pipe to get rid of the rasp.
