stripped some bolts on my 1jz, what can i use?
Did the rear seal today and today as i was torque ing down my flexplate bolt (auto) one got stripped inside. So i went to get a prroper torque wrench which i should of done the first time around so i wouldn't encounter this issue.
Also the 2 lower bolts from the tranny to the motor got stripped a little of the beggining thread.
Now can i just go to the dealer and get these replacement bolts? Would the 2jzge bolts work?
Please let me know, i need needto removed the striped bolt thats stuck inside the rear seal cover. (What bolts the flexplate to the the block) so i can continue finishing it up to go in

You should take a picture because I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what you've effed up. The flexplate bolts to the crank. If that's what you've done, you're in for some fun as the crank holes for the flexplate/flywheel are drilled through to the oiling area, so shavings in the engine is gonna be a *****. Use a light layer of thick grease on the tap you run in there if you cross threaded the crank. It'll help shavings stick to it.
Now if you're only talking about the rear main seal reatainer, the little 6m x 1.0 bolts with the 10mm head, then measure the length and get em from Toyota or Home Depot or use em off your ge, same bolts. Little things like this don't need extreme torque. Just make em snug and even, maybe bring it down in a cross pattern as to draw it evenly on the dowel pin.

Yes its the 8 bolts that attach the flexplate the block. Were the rear main seal is. I had a used torque wrench anddailed it itto 61 pounds as needed the first time it clicked so it.was good the second time it wasnt clicking and my buddy over did it lol. But ya im.definitely gona be becarefull removimg it.
I bought new arp 2jzge 2jzgte auto flexplate bolt as they looks the same and should work. And i guess you need to throw red loctite over them?
But i should have this fixed but yea it defiantly sucks

I dont thgink you over tightened them I think you put in either a damaged bolt or threaded it in wrong. I have never used a torque wrench on the flex/fly, ever. impact on low probably around 90. who knows? Never had in issue, ever.
Make sure you run a tap through there and fix the threads and, yes, use red loctite or even fipg

Ya no worries guys. I stil havent tapped out the bolt but i will this weeknd im working on other things on the motor. So basicaly i had no idea that your not supose to reuse the flexplate bolts, there only good for 1 time use. That might have played into why it snapped. Also i had no idea i was supposed to use red locktight lol. Good thing i didnt put them in yet.
I ordered new 2jz ARP flexplate bolts and they should be here soon so thats what ima gona be doing
