wmulli,

Very nice looking setup.

Congrats.

Pic of while it is on the ground and maybe even a sound clip for lex400sc's collection would be AWESOME.

Thanks

That would leave me without a stock exhaust to bolt back on if were to part with the car. Are you talking about the N1 turbo? or the n/a N1? I've looked into custom, but I think it would be better to buy from a company who actually engineered a system for the car. Just my 2 cents
find another exhaust shop then or tell them you want a NEW exhaust setup...

and bollox on the "engineered system"...

mufflers would be a twin n/a N1s... or a single turbo N1

Any other pics of your exhaust? From the side and the back from a little distance - sorry to be so pushy But that JIC is dang sweet. I may just have to move up the exhaust on my mods list.

Default more JIC pics

Sorry guys, I don't have a digital camera yet :-( I've got more pics coming, but it's a slow process going from film to jpeg's

Yeah, it IS sweet :-) I'm really pleased with it. I may even be able to get some sound clips in the near future...

The exhaust looks great. Do you know how big the piping is?

Default Response to Jic or Greddys

my boi has a honda accord v6 which has the greddys, its nice, ide definitely prefer those over the jic's. ive seen the jic's on an sc400, they look real puny, i guess its alright if you dun have a body kit. i have the departure 3, an exhaust system through phoenix power, a company in japan, but the entire exhaust, including shipping and handling, instalation, and modification ran me up 1450$. and yes it is a cat back exhaust, but by modifiying it, they chopped off my resonators.

PUNY???!?!? Then what do you consider "large"? The JIC has larger tubing than the Greddy (65mm vs. 60mm), and the same sized tip (100mm). The main difference is the construction quality and weight. The JICs use Stainless steel tubing and Titanium mufflers (nice! ). My installation time was about 45 minutes in my garage.

The JICs are special order JDM, with a list price of $1498 *before* shipping! Compare that with the $590 list for the Greddys.

Why would they have to modify it to fit???

I don't know what you saw on that SC400, but if it looked puny, I suspect it wasn't JIC...

will those jic's eventually discolor due to the heat like some of the other "titanium" exhausts out there? it would look cool

umm yeah i'm sure the JIC setup would be puny compared to 5.5" tips... IMO 5.5" is WAY too big... thats in the ricer range...

i've seen enough pics of the JIC setup to say its perfect in size

Does anyone know the weight savings of the titanium compared to the stainless?

i think it's about 1/2 the weight...
The exhaust for the RX7 (titanium) weight in at under 20lbs for the whole exhaust from the downpipe back.
