99 SC400 power steering pump
first i was looking for a rebuilt power steering pump for my 99 sc400 ...
and then i realized i couldn't even find a new one designated for a 1999 model, i checked Rising Sun Import Parts they have no part, i checked Ebay everything there says up to 1998..
i have not checked the dealer yet, thats next (i guess)
i wanted to ask the experts here is the 1998 power steering pump the same or is there a difference,??? i've read that not many 1999 SC400's were imported (i heard 900) don't know if thats an issue.
i just changed my alternator this weekend and it was really grimy.. i cleaned the power steering pump & lines before i went back with the alternator so i could get a better idea of just where the leak is from but thats what started me looking
anyways anyone??

197.99 Duralast at Autozone
190.98 Maval at Parts Geek
Or Call Carson Toyota.

What about rebuilding your own. There is howto somewhere on this forum. The pump should be the same as sc300, the only diffrence is the tank . http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts/a1...epaMgodv2YAAw#

thanks very much, that'll definitely give me some options, i really appreciate it ...
i saw the rebuild thread and it looked just a little too involved for me (a mans got to know his limitations)
i still haven't figured out exactly where it's leaking from yet, i sprayed it with low voc parts cleaner (worked pretty good), but i couldn't tell much just looking on, next i guess i'm going to have to enlist my son to turn the wheel back and forth for me (when he gets home later today) so i can try and get a better look, but either way i think STUDIOGEEK has got me headed in the right direction,
thanks to everyone for all the help,

Make sure you look at the Power Steering high pressure hose, those have been known to leak on SC's. Those can be rebuilt, or even replaced with other similar hoses if OEM is hard to find or expensive.
There are also a number of vendors here on CL who specialize in SC parts; user 'aliga' I believe is one. These guys have whole wrecking yards dedicated to Lexus and usually have a number of SC's they can pull parts from.
