Question ??? CODE #25 Cleared: Safe to drive?

Wife was driving to the Beach, CEL lit, '93 SC400 (under 100K) drove normally last 35 miles.

Did the Terminal TE1 & E1 connection, CODE #25 on CEL. Pulled the 30amp EFI fuse and code cleared, then did not repeat upon subsequent 1st start. Car always starts, drives and idles normally.

Question: is it probably SAFE to drive this approximately 200 miles to a more "civilized" location (READ as civilized = "a location with a LEXUS/Toyota Dealership and/or Independent Lexus Service shop")?

Don't want to exascerbate any problem$ and would prefer additional professional diagnosis/repair if necessary.

1st time it has ever thrown any CEL codes, BTW. I consider myself very fortunate...

Thanks!

I'd give it a bit of local driving before making a 200 mile trip, but its probably jus a failing o2 sensor. Most likely not a big deal. If it doesn't have noticeable signs of bogging, wouldn't worry too much. How longs it been since the last tune up?

My 97 is OBD2 and currently is throwing an O2 code. I don't care because I'm going NA-t in a couple months and I have other vehicles to drive but it has the same behavior. Reset the ECU, the MIL will stay off for a while and eventually (a couple of trips later) it will pop back on. No change in performance, runs and drives fine otherwise. Based on that sounding like your same situation, just a more generic code due to Obd1, I'd agree with Vrank and say chances are it's a failing O2.

Uh... "Last Tuneup" was <20K milesago: done at a LEXUS dealership before I acquired car. Full 75K major service + timing belt done @ approximately 80K. Previous owner (my friend) didn't really trust the previous owner who had little in the way of maintenance records, but the CARFAX was clear and showed it spent much of its life in AZ.

Don't really know about the plugs, though...

Thanks for the suggestion! Think I'll just drive it around for a couple days before I go back to "civilization".
