Default Swapped engines and idles fast and surges

HI everyone

My new problem after swapping engines.

My sc3oo is a 1992, and I had an engine from a wrecked 1995. I have the 1995 ecu and complete 1995 engine and harness also the transmission ( both are 5 speeds). I re wired the alternator and that works fine. Everything works great so far, but it idles high when cold and climbs to almost 2000 when warm. I have swapped the ICV and TCV and double checked the timing .
Is it possible the ECU is bad? the engine came out of a wreck. I should mention that I have had this engine in storage for about 15 plus years.

I really lost as what to do next, I could really use help.

Thank you
Ivan

15 years of sitting? that engine could use a overhaul...
have you replaced all vacuum lines with new lines? that is 15 year old rubber after all.

have you checked the timing?

sounds like you have a stuck open IACV, did you swap it for one you know works or another old one?
also I would check/replace all the hoses to eliminate vac leaks as mech mentioned they are likely all hard and cracked by now without any use.

I swapped the IACV from the 1992 engine, which was running good. I tried to swap everything that I could think of. I even swapped the throttle body. I have checked the vacuum lines and they all seem good. They are still nice and soft almost like new. I keep thinking the same thing that it is a bad line some were. I took some flat pliers and squeezed off the lines one at a time and no change. The engine runs great, I know I kinda had my doubts about it. I had a little time so I did the swap, now I am wishing I would have just left it alone.
Thank you
