Although the 981rwhp run was done without N2O assist, I believe he has spool up kit with "200 shot direct port, shuts off at 20psi".

With the spool up kit the boost goes from 3psi to 23psi in less than one frame of datalogging (less than one second). That doesn't seem like much lag to me. Also, the car makes more power with no boost than the the stock SC300 does at peak power.
