Hey guys, i'm currently typing here for my 1998 Lexus sc300 with 2jz-ge( non-turbo).
so i've got planed on my mind to get my car around 400-500 whp.
First of all, i found that manual W58 transmission to remove my auto trans. does this transmission going to be fine with my goal of horsepower?
whats the best turbo kit that is going to increase the whp?

A little searching will answer all these questions, but Ill lend some info so Im not being "that guy".
The w58 is fairly weak, but may last a while if you dont beat on it. Shift nicely and soft launches it may last a couple months. You would be better off with the R154.
As for the turbo, piece together your own turbo kit. Worst case, get one of the "kits" from Drift Motion. Keep in mind though, "kits" still require additional parts ( usually the smaller items) and are not always 100% bolt on.

W58 - no, it won't hold up to how you will be driving that power. Best turbo kit depends on how you want the power band and your budget. There is a lot more to consider than with just the kit......
Engine management, fuel pump and injectors, LSD (you don't want all that power through an open diff.), exhaust (3" all the way back), FMIC, TT Head gasket and ARP studs to lower compression on the ge.

Get ready to spend, OP. A lot of research will be needed according to how you want your car set up.
-Sell the W58 and get an R154 and rebuild it with MC parts. The W58 is a great transmission but its not for turbocharging.
-Get a TRD 2-way LSD and a rear diff with a lower gear ratio like a 3.92... or find yourself a Supra TT Auto Torsen rear (however it's recommended to use a TRD or other brand LSD at or above 500whp).
-Upgrade the front brakes at minimum
-Turbo "kit" components are always best self assembled. The kits usually only include a manifold, turbo, some feed lines and possibly injectors. You'll still need an engine management solution, fuel pump and many, many small miscellaneous things to get everything working.

Hope you don't have to pass obd2 emissions, otherwise you're screwed. Only piggyback I'd recommend is an hks fcon, possibly proefi to keep the obd2 stuff happy after a lot of bs for the trans codes. Then your bottom end sucks for 500 reliably beating on it. Look into spending an enormous amount of money, easy 30k judging by the questions you're asking.
