Hello everyone! A few maintenance questions.
Hi guys, I'm new to the SC forums. Just got my first sc300. Its an automatic 94 with 230k miles. bone stock. Runs and drives. It came with a bunch of parts that I already replaced.
Problems I want to fix
1. It leaks coolant, engine oil, and trans fluid.... I put a big piece of card board under it to spot the location of the leaks. seems like the coolant and oil are leaking from the front of the engine.
2. The header is cracked and is extremely loud. broken right past the flange on the "Y" pipe up by the firewall.
3. Doesn't seem to be charging, I have not checked the grounds yet. just did a quick meter, with the car on, the battery had 12.3v
Solutions?
1. replace water pump, water pump gasket,Timing Belt, TB Tensioner, TB Adjuster, front main seal. cam seals, valve cover gasket.
2. Will this fit?? ===> http://www.ebay.com/itm/93-97-TOYOTA-SUPRA-3-0L-2JZGE-STAINLESS-EXHAUST-HEADER-/330840275253?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d079df935&vxp=mtr
3. Already got a new battery so gonna check the grounds and then replace the alternator with a remanufactured one and new serpentine belt.
I am trying to get this all done my self. I figure if I have to take the stock header out anyway to get it welded I might as well get a new one instead. I am not sure what I will be doing with the car yet but its my project and i want to fix it as much as possible for free or just pay for parts and put them in myself.
Do you guys recommend I do any other maintenance? Am I missing something important that I should replace???

As for your header question, those headers look like the MVP (used to be made by XERD) at about 1/4 of the cost MVP charges. This has me VERY interested
Theoretically those headers should work for an SC300 but it'll have a screw on type 02 sensor so you'll need to replace your 02 sensors w/ that kind ( obd1 SC300s had clamp on 02 sensors) There are threads on what 02 sensor part numbers to look for.

Well only one person responded and I have been reading a lot of other posts and these Ebay headers do look a lot like the MVP ones.. I bet there is a metal thickness/quality difference. Pulled the trigger on the header already. now I'm thinking of buying the header heat wrap tape stuff to make the header "thicker". Don't wanna put it on and have the car sound like the rice is ready..

The header should be here by the end of the week. I cut the exhaust off right at the cat and am gonna have a place weld it up together when the header comes in. Right now I'm in the process of taking the whole engine apart. and replacing all the seals/gaskets. Is it necessary to do rod bearing and piston rings on such a high mileage engine??
