Default My Mechanic seems to be Guessing!!!

Greetings!
I have zero idle...foot off gas...car stalls out. Told me I needed idle speed control valve...bought one and no change in idle...still zero.
Losing confidence in shop...$ are mounting...need some direction...any other possible causes he should be checking..MAF...vacuum leak...ECU....is the list endless...I hope not.
Any suggestions are appreciated in advance.

I've been trying to help him out via email -- sent my known working IAC -- but the symptoms and troubleshooting them are a bit outside my wheelhouse. Subscribed to follow along.

Possible issue for low idle could be ECU cz my car used to stall as well but my problem was EGR system and since i got my EGR system fixed my car idles around 600 and after the engine gets more hot its idle 550. The normal idle should be 650 +/- 50 .

We discussed ECU, but I hadn't considered EGR. I wouldn't have thought the EGR system has much effect on idling unless it's a vacuum leak; isn't it mostly mid-throttle related? We also discussed vacuum leaks, so maybe there's a connection there.

In my case, idle is still low even after i got my EGR system replaced and checked ! So m believing its ECU on which sometimes the solenoids get bad. U can get a used one for $100 pr something. Since the ECU keeps the idle on right position and it holds a mempry to where the car should idle for fuel efficiency.

It's a long shot, but I just solved a similar and very frustrating issue I was having with my land cruiser. It turned out to be plugged injectors. Are you getting terrible mpg's?

Oh grt. Well to clean injectors i use chevron fuel injector cleaner which i use every 3k miles in a full gas tank. I used to have poor mpg but since i replaced my coolant temp sensor my mph has improved alot. All thanks to club lexus 👍
