How to adjust serpentine belt tension?
How do you add more tension to the belt? Do you need to take the belt off to adjust the tensioner or is there some other way to adjust it while the belt is on?
The belt that's on there looks pretty good, its just squeeling a bit. I think I can get away with it for a little while longer if I can just put a little more tension on it.
Thanks!

they are not adjustable. they are spring loaded and there are marks on the side indicating if they are in proper range or not. usually the squealing is a sign you should put on a new belt very soon.
if you switch to a new belt and still have issues, then likely you need to replace the tensioner, but usually its the belt. do not leave a loose belt on there for a long time or else you will need a new tensioner.

There are 3 marks and then a large space on the tensioner base. When the belt is new you should be close to the first mark. As the belt ages, you should remain within the first three marks. If you go beyond then your tension is beyond auto adjust.
Linear cracks can make the belt squeal too and when the belt is damp the squeal goes away (just one of the noise source)

yes, repeat until it rains and there is no noise.
If your belt is fairly new and somehow managed to get dry you can try belt dressing it helps conditions the belt and that will likely work.
What you don't want is to try and condition a loose belt to make the noise go away for a little bit, because its going to work your tensioner alot more that way, and last time I checked the tensioner is expensive and a new belt is like $30. sc300 its very easy to change, sc400 well there is more stuff in the way.
