Transmission trouble
1992 sc400
228k
I habe been having a burning smell coming from the bottom of the car. Car going from Park to Drive or L, the vehicle jerks quite hard. I do not want to do a full tranny flush as i read my reviews and did my research on how much of a problem that shall cause.
Also while driving it seems to have struggle with engaging in full throttle, on many occasions on flat roads
So would cycling new transmision fluid after dropping about 2 quarts out of what is currently in, and repeating that process every 500-2000 miles be a sufficient change?
Second i beleive i MIGHT need a new transmission cooler.
third i beleive i will need a new transmission mount.
hope to hear back from anybody who has ever had similar problems or read about any individuals who have any your opiniom, as many posts ive read were from years back as im pretty new on these forums. so thank you again for your time, God bless and happy summer!

I had the same symtoms. I purchased a new trans filter, cleaned the crap out of the valves while the pan was off, resealed it, and poured in some amsoil trans fluid and it's better than it ever was. My sc400 has 280k on it. Can't hurt to try it. It worked for me and it's been almost 20k miles.
