2jzgte block deck height
I tried searching before but could not find any info on this. I accidently scratched my block deck using a razor blade to remove gasket material. It is near the bore, I am sending the block to the machine shop to resurface the block. Can anyone tell me what the maximum thickness that can be remove from the block? or how much total can they remove from the head+block before I have to use a thicker headgasket.
I only came across to one post saying that .010 is acceptable but not much info there.
Thanks.

Its a zero deck block, so its supposed to be junked after that technically... I haven't ever done it but I think people have done that before and can get away with it on stock cams, but maybe you should just pick up another block it will be less than the cost of dissasembly and machine work by far, and you get spare parts.
how bad is it scratched? maybe you can just smooth it down and let the headgasket seal the rest as it has a viton coating on it that can handle tiny imperfections.
if you take off .010 and nothing off the head then it should be fine but will bump up the compression sligthly above 10:0 stock, personally I would throw a 2jzgte gasket on there for little extra insurance if you do get it machined, and you should end up around a ballpark of 9.5 =compression ratio.
also depends on if a stock build or if you are planning for boost later. someone that has done it will hopefully have more info on how much you can machine safely, I just know at TDC pistons are at the block deck height.
