Sorry for a very late reply recently got car back on the road and it has passed smog fairly easy for anyone else that may become concerned if they would pass or not .

Car also had a small exhaust leak on midpipe before cat and was not driven very far before attempting smog I went for a pre test to see where the numbers would be and the guy told me it would pass

travi, thank you for sharing your results! I'm impressed it worked for an NA car. The HC's seem right on the nose but without knowing your car's service history that could also be attributable to other factors and the health of the cat. Still, congratulations!

How does the SC's pickup compare with this gasket on?

I thought it would pass just fine, yeah the HC is a little high and the Nox has dropped a little, both are due to the compression change. what do you have the timing set at? you passed just fine but if next time the HC goes over the limit by a hair turn up the timing a couple degrees (within the allowable 10 +/- 2 degrees range) and it will raise nox and lower HC a little bit.

It's only a slight difference with the gte headgasket, it's not as bad as many people say it's definitely doable if you're looking to boost later down the road and be prepared for it

Didn't even mess with the timing i honestly only went in for a test run to see where the numbers were to see if I needed to mess with timing but it passed so I told the guy to do the actual smog . Thanks Ali definitely have room to turn up timing if needed
