I'm doing them on my 97 SC300 as well on Thanksgiving morning. I'm also doing my valve cover gasket and distributor O ring. I will not be replacing the throttle body or intake gaskets because they're metal and should be fine as long as you're careful with them during the job. Hope this helps and message me for any info as i'm doing the job just a couple days before you

I've had mine off a dozen times and never replaced it, just be careful with the gasket and it will be fine.

Done a handful of 2J NA tuneups and gaskets are always fine, you can spray em with brake cleaner and make sure mating surfaces are clean.

yeah I have never replaced the intake ones just try not to bend them too much, even then just sort of bend them back and tighten it down and it seals up every time. If they look oily/burnt then clean them off first. do valve cover gaskets and the distributor o-ring if its leaky.
