Hopefully the OP will get a post notification in his thread but he may not if he’s no longer active here.

There is another currently active thread fully detailing how to adapt an R150 for use in an SC. Similar process and the input shaft does not require changing.

Both the R155 and R150 can be adapted. The R150 just seems to require less modification. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the R155’s gear ratios as compared to the ratios in R150.

It is not recommended that you put 400-450hp through any W-Series manual transmission... although many people have done just that with their SC300 or MKIV W58's. How long they last depends on how you shift the W58, how much you "shock load" its relatively small gears and shafts and the overall age and long term wear on the internals.

A W55 or W56 are truck variants of the W family of transmissions and the gear ratios of both won't be as ideal as the ratios in any generation of the W58.

That being said I would recommend an R-series manual transmission for a JZ turbo application. And yes, the 1JZ-R154 factory bell-housing can fit onto any R-series transmission from the R154 to the R150 to the R155. Same for the R150F 4WD and R155F 4WD. I also believe it fits onto the GM Solstice Aisin AR-5 which is related. In addition to the R155 conversion check into the R150 conversion as well since it seems to require less modification, specifically to the input shaft. Additionally the R150 was discovered to allow the use of a JZX110 (I think) top shifter housing and internal shift arm as an OEM solution to getting the proper extension length for most vehicle applications. There is a separate R150 specific thread covering all of those details.

The RA62 and RA63 6-speed manuals that came in the 2006-2013 IS250 were reliably installed behind the IS350's 3.5L V6 (aftermarket mod) and the Mark X 3.5L 300hp V6 (official GRMN model in Japan) but still aren't ideal for the torque output and shock loading from a boosted JZ engine.

For a boosted JZ making healthy horsepower and torque stick with any of the R-series manual boxes, a Solstice/Sky AR-5, a CD009 6-speed or the pricier Tremec Magnum 6-speed.

...

The W-series in your picture is a 2WD variant. I'm not sure if it is a W58, W56, or W57 but it's definitely not a W55 (which btw is the weakest of all W series transmissions) since the W55 has tripod shifter setup from the factory.

If that W series that you have does happen to be a W58 it would be an early version found in 80's Toyotas and therefore not as strong as the later SC300/MKIV versions. If you have an aluminum center sandwich plate it's the weaker type and that's what I see in the image (an aluminum sandwich plate).

Judging further by the very centered toploader shifter location I think you have a W56 or W57 gearbox. Either would have come from a Toyota light duty truck.

Use an ar5 or an older r150 2wd trans. you can use the r155 but the input shaft is short and will need to be changed.

So not sure if anyone can help but I've been piecing an r155 together and not sure how the jzx110 shifter arm attaches to the r155 shift arm. Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have pictures but you have to remove the tailshaft housing to remove the r155 shift arm that is on the output shaft, you replace it with the jzx110 piece that goes on the output shaft, than the jzx110 housing fits into place over that.

might be some more info in the r150 thread

For anyone curious there's a great writeup from a couple of weeks ago on Supraforums detailing one MKIV Supra owner's own R155 swap including his post install review of the setup:
