Default Cleaning Iron block surface 1JZ-GTE Headgasket

Hello, what are some methods that everybody has used to clean their iron block mating surface for the head gasket, I was honestly looking for a service manual for the 1JZ Head gasket replacement but could not find it anywhere. I've already cleaned the gasket material off with the razor already
thanks

I used razor blade...but be careful not to did into head...

Then I used very high grit sand paper on a block of wood....Add oil to sandpaper and slowly go back and forth across block surface....you will need to flip engine over after completed and clean out cylinder walls....I used air compressor and brake cleaner....

If engine is still in car shove a ton of paper towels and rags down in cylinder walls to catch as much debris as possible...
