1997 high pressure hose from power steering pump leak
I replaced the power steering pump in the car because it was making noise and not working - not functioning when car was purchased.
Alternator has clearly been replaced which means the power steering pump might have come out at that time.
When I went to take the high pressure line off is was insanely tight. Almost impossible to remove.
I have everything back together and torqued on to spec. Now the high pressure line leaks. Can't really tell where it's coming from but it is certainly coming from that banjo joint.
I figure I'll have to replace it but before I do I want to ask - How does this surface leak? I looked it over and there was a small nick on the surface but I was able to flatten it out. I did replace both copper washers as well. Seems to me like it really shouldn't be leaking. Any thoughts?
