Default Fuel Tank Pressure Problem

So, I knew I had some sort of problem because when I would fill the tank if I made a hard left turn I could smell gas. This was only when the tank was full. I checked and replaced my evap tank. Did not solve the problem. Today I filled the tank and drove about 2 miles and stopped at the mall. When I came out gas was pouring out the filler cap. After a few minutes the pressure subsided.

Any thoughts?

My tank pressurizes enough that gas will pour out if I open the cap when the tank is nearly full and the car is parked on a bit of a slope to the right. So, I'd say that aspect is more or less normal in your case.

However, I see no reason why gas should be able to pour out if the cap is doing its job, so I would suspect your cap is no good.
