Hey CL,
It all started when i noticed my car was a little "jerky" (barely noticeable) between 1600 & 2000 RPMs so i decided to take my MAF out and it clean it with some CRC MAF cleaner and that made the problem 100x worse and between the same rpms the whole car would shake and when plugged back in i had a CEL 31. So i bought a used MAF of ebay and i reset the computer by unplugging the battery for 30 seconds and 30 minutes and i also unplugged the CEL fuse for 10 seconds also and nothing fixed it. I am getting 12v at the actual MAF sensor and with the new sensor in the car works perfectly fine no jerkiness at all but still has the code 31. I have tried everything i know of and i can not seem to get rid of this damn CEL.![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
The car is a 95 sc4 with 116xxx on it.
Thank you CL any help/advice is much appreciated.

To make sure the used MAF is functional, test it w/ a multimeter by testing resistance between THA and E2. Voltage should read between 2-3k.

Pre 96 Lexus vehicles MAF's cannot be cleaned using the conventional cleaner liquid. Doing so will destroy them. Pre 95 are Karmen vortex are not your normal MAF, as they use wires and mirrors to detect air flow. To clean you just get a compressor and spray as much air into it as you can.

Brennen, would you please read over my first post here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...n-stumble.html and tell me if your symptoms were the same as mine before you tried cleaning the MAF? Thanks.
