Building my 2jzgte non vvti motor slowly, I got several questions:

1. Pros and Cons of running 280 cams on a street car? Head is rebuilt with 80lb BC springs. Guy locally is selling a set of used titans 280 for cheap. Goal is mid 600hp. Any input on this? Cons besides idle?

2. I want the car to response well, would 280 cams hurts spool? (I know thats mostly turbo dependent, going to run either a 6466 or a SXE 63mm on a log manifold with QSV)

280 cams for what sized turbo you're looking to run and for the power you're looking for is way out of balance... those cams will shift your powerband too far to the right ... imo hks 264 or gsc stage 1 would better suit your build

Lex is right for 600 you can use the stock cams or 264. 272 would even be a bit large for that 280 is way too much since it moves the powerband to the right its going to seem like it spools slower but then make more power at the very top. if you want response keep with the smaller cam.

Street car? Go 264's.

Unless you drive this car only for pleasure on weekends, don't do 272s or 280s.

I regret my 272s for everyday use even with the option of other daily drivers.
