there is nothing wrong with boosting your car or emanage when used on the right set ups....
i have had boosted sc300s for almost 10 years now...never an issue when the right things are used.....
i would never reccommend an emanage for a obd2 sc300...best just going straight to aem or motec......but boost is not the issue....
wanna buy a boosted sc300
lol

friend of mine ed here in miami just built a obd2 with map ecu...and had it for a lil bit and just stepped up to the aem and he says he should have gone with that in the begining like i told him....aem does everything you need and more....no more bandaids on a stock ecu...
eds name i believe lex4life on here.....he can tell you 1st hand...

I believe Jeff's opinion on piggy backing onto the OBDII is to avoid it like the plague. Based on this thread, and the wealth of knowledge presented, I've bowed out of a amazingly priced 2jzge vvti turbo kit, since it included the Greddy eManage piggy back. As of now, Forced Induction (FI) has become rather questionable, in my honest opinion. Boosting a 2jzge vvti engine maybe too complex, which was precisely noted by this thread.
Perhaps a torque converter and and high flow intake is less invasive and easier to maintain (plus sustain) in the long run.
BTW, I love my VVTI! Great low end torque and fuel conservation.

by no means am i saying dont turbo the car...im saying do it right...good quality components....and the essential thing is the ecu....vvti and obd2 are fine..just get the right ecu to control it...thats all
turboing the sc300 give it the power it needs and makes the car a true joy to own....BUT....you need to do it right....with vvti obd2 get an aem.....you will be happy
with an intake and tc you will not....
just buy my car and have a completly built obd1 turbo sc300

map ecu = my worst nightmare
map ecu to me was nothing more then a bandaid.. it worked pretty well at wot but below that and crusing just shoot me please.. tune would change somewhat daily , idle a/f would do strange things like it was on crack, sometimes trying to go into boost without going wot car would just shut off.. i used to always drive around with my laptop to make certain corrections
bottom line it killed my enjoyment .. one day i got fed up and decidied to do what most of my friends were doing WENT AEM STANDALONE and never looked back
the trick with any standalone is the TUNER , CCC-TT aem tuner who is the best imo locally is alpha from supra forums , hes right there in tampa and he tuned my car to perfection..
cold starts perfect , hot restart perfect , cruising 14.7 to 15.1 a/f perfect with or without a/c on i avg about 24mpg and car responds to boost wether part throttle or wot
having total control of timing and fuel are critical period
map 1 only fuel and only in open loop , tuning closed loop map 2 has some nifty features to trick stock ecu but thats it ... its still witchcraft
ems , what numbers you program in today are the same tomm , next week ,nexy year etc etc etc
