SC300 with 1JZ swap - Tach Fix
This is for a 93 SC300 with a 1JZ Soarer swap. I followed this fix from youtube and can confirm that it works. I'm not sure why others seem to have issues, so I specified my swap info. The photos below are screenshots from that youtube video tutorial.
1. Remove the Gauge Cluster and turn it over to remove the back housing.
2. Locate the R109 on the right side when facing the rear of the cluster (in between the two plugs that were removed).
3. Cut an 18 gauge wire about an inch in length.
4. Strip the ends of the wire and twist it onto each side of the R109 - careful not to break anything.
5. Use a Solder Iron with a long thin tip to be able to reach the joined wires and use thin solder to melt it onto the ends of the R109 piece.
Let it cool for a minute. Put everything back and test drive. Good Luck.
