^^ lexforlife, that being your experience do you think the general opinion of 500whp being the edge of reliability for Torsens might have to do more with drag racing, the use of semi-slicks (or full slicks) or just launches from dead stops rather than rolling pulls? Driving style also?

I also use Redline Shockproof diff oil in my Torsen pumpkin, though it's apples to oranges compared to the power output of your SC.

FWIW I've been running my 3.26 w/ Torsen since 2013. At both 400hp and at 560hp. That included a lot of street fun, and 2015 had one trip to the strip where I made 4 passes trapping right around 130mph, with terrible wheel hop on launch, on drag radials.

Just some more information to throw out there, take it however you want to take it. I have a spare 3.26 diff that eventually I do plan to install a stronger aftermarket LSD, or perhaps just go to an entirely new diff setup (ford).

Edit: I'll add that I run a single piece steel driveshaft. I used to run that same Redline fluid in my DSM a long time back, but I've switched and have only ever run Amsoil SVT in the SC diff.

I am very happy I ran into this thread. This is exactly what I will be doing for the GS track car. Getting the 3.266 ratio diff from a LS430, SC430 or GS430 along with the CD or JK transmission.

the wheel hop isn't from the diff. It's from deflection of bushings in the control arms and subframe.

I have a Supra torsen, but if doing it again I'd do the Ford 8.8 swap with maybe a T2r
