T56 on a 2jz
Ordered my swap kit should be here in 2 weeks. It comes with bellhousing, billet fly wheel, twin disc clutch, and the other parts needed to bolt up to the 2jz. I know Grannas Racing offers a kit as well as Suprastore, but the are more pricey than what I got. Grannas uses the same set up just a different clutch and is about 1k more. I ended up going with the original company that offered this kit, Joel uses their bell housing on his kit. I plan on dropping this into my RX7 build. I'll post up pics of the kit when it's in my hands.

estomax, the "T-56" Magnum is vaguely the same transmission by designation but it is really a completely new gearbox from Tremec. It bears closest relation to the Tremec TR6060 6-speed used by many OEMs but even still it is different enough to get its own designation "Magnum".
A regular T-56 6-speed is good but it isn't the same thing internally as a Tremec Magnum and isn't rated anywhere near the same torque. Even though the V160 and V161 Getrags were rated for 350ft-lbs from the factory (conservative official number) the Magnum is rated at a minimum 700ft-lbs CONSTANT torque which is widely viewed to be a conservative rating also. As such, it's now being looked at as the more reasonable alternative to a Getrag swap for 2JZ cars and as a go-to swap for many other makes and models with high horsepower and high torque engines.
The cost for a regular T-56 is less than the cost for a Magnum (and the big brother comes in two versions: a 2.66 ratio and a 2.95 ratio).
