Na-t W58 Clutches.... What do you run?
I've blown 2 clutches so far and i'm going to attribute it to buying cheap parts.
First one was an XTD non six puck rated for 350. Itl lasted like 4 months. I just put in a 6 puck from efortissimo rated at 380 and it blew up after 400 miles as soon as i started letting full boost kick in, it started slipping and now I cant even move the car. First one was eBay 120 dollars, second was amazon 150 dollars. I guess i'm going to have to go with the Competition Clutch Stage 4 sprung 6 puck next it says its rated for 250% of stock application but then it says 350hp so unless anyone can point me in a better direction I guess I'll be going that route for 350.
I'm reusing my stock flywheel and have resurfaced it every time i've put a clutch in. I looked at some of the southbend options but they were like 700 dollars and at that point i feel like going r154. The car is on a 14 psi wastegate spring and running well. I don't know how much hp/torque its putting out. I'm guessing 350-370 at the crank so 320 or so to the wheels.
What do you guys run on your NA-T Sc's?

I can share what I personally ran in the past. I ran my stock flywheel and pressure plate with an XTD 6-puck disc at 400hp for a couple years. I was pretty much at it's limit. If I tried to turn up the boost at all it would start to slip. But it ran that way for a couple years flawlessly for the most part. I used sandpaper to roughen up the Pressure Plate and Flywheel a bit when I installed it. Other than that, didn't really do anything special.
That setup was recommended to me by my tuner at the time who had also ran that setup at similar levels in the past.

Just installed a Clutchmaster FX400 full face on one of my 97 SC300 5speed just to get it running. The FX400 are rated 170% more holding capacity and have good reviews on supraforums . I remember DaveH made over 650rwhp on his FX400. I believe he had a 6 or 4 puck.

Thanks for the replies, I don't like the xtd because i already broke one that was rated for more than what i was putting down. I checked out the FX400 and I think i'll try it next. I'm not too sure how the percentages go on the ratings.
Would 170% more than stock would be 385hp? 225x1.70 or is it like 100% more than stock is already 450 so 170% would be up at 607hp

Based on reviews of people using the FX400 , the clutch held up with those making 400rwhp - 650rwhp . There are a lot of factors involved here like a 4 puck will hold more than a 6 puck or 8 puck . Take note also that even though your clutch could handle the torque associated with that power , your W58 internals itself are on borrowed times the moment you get past the 350rwhp / ft.lbs mark. Above 400ft.lbs , you are flirting with disaster.
So any clutch that can handle the 400ft.lbs mark would do the job considering the W58 is already at its max too at that torque level especially if it is not newly built. Though of course , this also depends a lot of how and where you use the car.

Yeah, the transmission is the next limiting factor. Only reason i'm staying at my wastegate spring's boost level. But i can't afford a r154 or v160 yet.... Student problems... lol I'll go with the Th400 because its basically at the same price as the competition clutch stage 4 and seems to be able to hold more power.

I ran the competition clutch either stage 3 or 4 with 6 puck clutch with stock flywheel...Clutch held the power....but transmission didnt...
