Default Temp Gauge wire

Hi to all, been surfing the forum for about 2 months while building my SC300. This is my first SC build so sorry if this is a noob question. Little back round on the car it is a 93 Sc300 well two of them actually lol, traded a ford 302 for 2 SC300s and $500...Car one good body/interior, auto trans blown motor. Car 2, two colors, no interior salvage title...5 speed, good engine, but all wiring taken off engine and so after swapping everything over the one thing that wont work is the temp gauge. So tracked down the issue to the sending unit being unplugged. This is fun part...I can not for the life of me find the pig tail for the sending unit. the pics below show the OE sending unit and the only single wire plug I have left however they obviously don't together. So can anyone confirm if this is the correct wire for the temp gauge? and if it is wrong any one know what wire it should be?
