Default 1991 Toyota SC400 (Lexus) vibrating problem

Hi People,

I have a 1991 Toyota Soarer (V8) same as a Lexus SC400. When I accelerate there is a bad vibration until I get to cruising speed.....then any acceleration from there gives that same vibration. It usually happens when the car is warm. It does not happen every day but at its worse it feel like driving in a washing machine. I have also noticed a ticking noise coming from under the car around the transmission area. This noise goes away when put into drive but remains when in reverse. My transmission guys think it might be the torque convertor on its way out but I wanted your thoughts as well please.
