I figured that was the problem. Glad it is fixed !

Be forewarned, a ECU rebuild will be expensive, but cheap if you get stranded and need it. How about another from the salvage yard ? The salvage yard one I bought for my SC400 was $50+ shipping and cheap at that price !

Thanks guys.

The ECU for my car (92 or 93 M/T; 89661-24300) seems to be a bit rare. There were only three of them on eBay and they were all above $200.

Ill keep an an eye out for another though.

So much knowledgeable info in this thread, thanks for the read. My 92 sc400 is cranking, but no start too and Im thinking it may be ECU/ECM related as well. My brother is an ex Toyota tech and he told me that the old Toyota/Lexus ECMs were problematic and that Tanin is recommended for a rebuild before buying a questionably used ECM from another car.

I'm glad you found it to be valuable! I plan on sending my old ECU in to Tanin.
I didn't go that route initially because I was worried that my unit would not be repairable and I really wanted my car running again.

I recently had this issue with my 2008 IS350 and it was resolved by changing the fuel pump.

Toyota had a bad batch of fuel pumps probably 06-12. Issues above are more involved with the ECU with earlier Lexus models
