Should be able to pick it up from the ignitor wire to the coil. On the fender on the left side, white wire with blue stripe. The signal might be strong enough to pick up the tach signal from the ignitor to the cluster, have never tried it. It's a black wire coming into plug C pin 9 of the cluster. I personally would not mess with the IG-F or IG-T wire coming into the ECU, stuff just doesn't like it when you rob a signal from the ECU, but that's just me.

I think you can tap into the IGF on the ecu. Pin B58. That is where piggyback's get it from like safc etc..
Don't break the wire or the car won't run anymore.
Strip the insulation around the wire with a loose blade, wrap your new wires around it tight, solder it a little bit to hold, and tape it back up (if you slide the pin out of the ecu connector you can get heatshrink on it too).

in that link at the very top is a picture of a connector. the 80 pin connector #58 says "IGF" that is the one you want.

This is the SC300/400 sub-forum. I would suggest asking this in the 2nd Gen IS250/350 sub-forum where there will be more familiarity with your IS350 cluster.

However for MOST Toyota/Lexus vehicle connectors you should be able to see a very tiny set of five numbers embossed somewhere on the connector housing you want to purchase new. Sometimes it is easy to find and other times it's slightly hidden but almost (almost) all connectors on Toyota/Lexus vehicles have a five-digit number embossed onto them. Use a flashlight if you have to and/or rub off any grime that has collected to make the numbers more readable.

Then with your five digit number (let's say hypothetically that it is "12345") you will need to add "90980-" to the front of it. So in this example you would now have "90980-12345". With that number combination you will be able to order the new replacement connector from a Toyota or Lexus dealer if they still have the connector part number available. Sometimes some parts are Lexus-only and you have to go to a Lexus dealer but this isn't usually the case.

I do suggest asking in the 2IS sub-forums where there is more expertise with your model but for just a connector the above process is what I would do.

Hope this helps.
